You're doing amazing work to restore a unique piece of motorsport- and auto history. How come you decided to go with a engine from a later model? I realize that the stock S14 (which, if I remember correctly, arrived without any extensive modifications in the Europameister) might not be as fun as a roaring 6-cyl hellbent on ravaging the roads, but to me it feels like the heart of the car and an integral part of its legacy.
Look at Mázi. Much like yourself, he's restoring an E30 M3. Unlike you, with no offense intended towards Mázi or his car, he's not restoring a unique model so going along with a different engine isn't that big of a deal. I've always felt that a car like this should be kept in its original state, especially when so much work is being put into making it look the part. It makes me wonder why one shouldn't go all the way.
Anyways, I'm sorry for my rant. The car isn't mine and neither is the project. It seems like I can find a bit of shade even on the sun. I think the most important part here is that you're actually doing this (and doing it well, at that) and not daydreaming about it. Everybody here wins, S14 or not!

Er þetta nú ekki í usa þannig að mótor og body passar saman?
Meinti eitthvað þannig
Plús að S54 M3 færi á meira en orginal held ég
