Þar sem minns er svolítið grænn í þessum málum langar mig að spyrja
einfalt álit.
Er þetta rétt?
A turbocharger, being exhaust driven, has a built in lag in it's power delivery. It needs the engine speed to spool up quite a bit before it delivers it's full power. A supercharger, due to the fact that it is engine driven, kicks in as soon as you open the throttle. It does rob a little power on acount of the drive belt, but it will never be noticed. Other than that, they both do the same thing, and, given equal amounts of boost, will each give equal power increases.
The difference in driving is that the supercharged car will deliver more even power throughout the RPM range, somewhat like the difference in power delivery between the stock Z4 and stock S2000. If feels like a much larger engine. Supercharging allows you to shift less in twisty situations, relying on it's low end power, rather than high RPM's to pull through corners. I have driven supercharged and own a turbocharged (not Z4's), and would take supercharged any day. The turbo lag can be quite annoying.
