Aye, it would cost a lot. That E24 you linked will probably end at 2.7 million krónur due to the fact that it ends up in the highest CO2 emission category (+250g/km), because as far as I can google, the 635CSi has an emission rating of 350 g/km.

I hope that you do find one, but unless you go for a car in need of love, I don't think that you'll find one in Iceland. I know that ours isn't for sale, and I doubt that Sæmi's 6"45"csi is either. Don't know anything about the 635CSi with the license plate ... "635CSI".

Thanks, that's our car and it's in mint condition. :) Alas, it's not for sale and not for anything between 2 - 3 million. You'd have a tough time finding a car like this in Europe for less than 20.000 euro, which would end up in excess of 6 million when delivered to Iceland and they're not getting any cheaper. One can debate though if the current importing price is an acceptable price on a car that was imported X many years ago, but that's a whole different thing.

Well, you bring some cake and I'm sure that we can get a few of us down in front of Alþingi protesting these silly laws! :)

Sadly, you have to pay the same price regardless of what the cars will be used for. I'm sure that some companies could get the VAT thrown away, but they'd get into heaps of trouble if they did that for the wrong reasons.

I think I remember the 6er you're talking about:

Is this the one? Last I heard about that one is that it is being restored (or used for parts in a different 6er restoration project). There were 2 or 3 cars being made into one "whole" car, I believe. Can't wait to see how that one turns out.

Would probably sell myself before that car. It'll probably end up as a family heirloom!

But you might be talking about Dr. E31's 8-series. Awesome looking car!
