Kannski eilítið seint í rassing gripið en hér eru nokkrar myndir sem ég tók á VLN 24. Var einmitt að vina með Aston Martin Lagonda sem voru með m.a. bílinn sem Þórður setti mynd af hér fyrir ofan. Aston Martin v12 Zagato, ansi skemmtileg græja og hljómaði MJÖG vel, einnig var með í för Aston Martin V8 Vantage N24.
Það verður að segjast að svona 24 klukkustunda keppnir eru ekkert nema geðveiki að vinna við, við vorum vakandi í nærri 40 tíma að setja upp keppa og taka allt niður (og pínu bjór í lokinn)
Keppnin gekk vel og eftir 12 tíma voru allir bílarnir enn í topp 5, svo á slaginu 4 fór allt til fjandans og allir bílarnir voru stopp í meira eða minna 3 tíma af mismunandi ástæðum. En nóg blaður, nokkrar myndir.

Fyrir keppni inni í Aston Martin Nurburgring Test Centre, hentugt að vera með allt til alls á svæðinu.

6.0 V12, nánast óbreytt út AM V12 Vantage

Við deildum bílskúr með Toyota, sem voru með 2 Lexus LF-A, það leit ekki þannig út en þetta var Toyota Works lið og m.a. var Akio Toyoda (Toyota CEO) á svæðinu, keppnis liðið var ekkert lítið stressað á þeim tímapunkti!

Inni í einum bílskúr voru samtals 5 bílar, þannig að það var nánast vonlaust að koma nokkru í verk þarna... ótrúlegar aðstæður.

Við náðum samt að koma saman ágætis upplýsingamiðstöð upp við vegg.

Engan tepruskap!! kappakstursbílar og klámstjörnur eiga vel saman.

Pitstop! takið eftir að það er notuð venjuleg bensíndæla til að fylla á!! og það var ein dæla fyrir hvern bílskúr... algjör geðveiki

2011 - Shanghai nightclub incident

Það eru smá umræður á Northloop um óþol James May vegna Nurburgring.

Einn verkfræðingur hjá Jaguar kom með eftirfarandi comment sem mér fannst áhugavert:

"90% of ring testing is durability, so cooling brakes, structure and so on. Needs to do 390 laps, 8000kms, without failure and just using consumables.

Not a huge amount of chassis work goes on there except for the focused sports cars, in general a Nurburgring tuned car is not so good as a road car."
