[QUOTE=Blow Dog;863425]5.30am flight all the way up to Scotland this morning and have just got home from an epic drive all the way back to London in my new toy. This one's a hoot, it's a car I've been looking for for about a year now, it's an original Alpina C2 2.7, fantastic condition considering its 21 year age.
I've always had a soft spot for the E30 - it was the first car I ever drove back in 1989. This particular car is the C2 which is a 2.5 6 cyl, bored out to 2.7. The car sounds simply fantastic with the classic BMW sweet 6 noise, but with an added touch of menace. Handling is neutral, power is torquey - but for me, the looks are everything.
Here's a few pictures from today, including some of the roads in Scotland of which I have to say are some of the best I've ever experienced.

So on the way home I decided to pop into David's house to see his E30 M3 he's just bought too - it would have been rude to have not taken any photos:

Two very different beasts - fascinating how they use their power. The M3 is a right little screamer, utilising its top band of revs to maximise it's grunt. It's darty and accurate. The C2 is a lot more torquey, almost GT like in its delivery and offers a more usable on-road performance.
Both brilliant cars, both have same power output - but both very different. Great end to the day, but I feel like shit, I've lost my voice and I've got the cold from hell...
