altavista draslið virkaði hjá mér, en það eru búnar að vera umræður um þetta held ég á langa þræðinum hans sæma um 645 bílinn, en allavega:

The intake manifold looks unlacquered not particularly substantially. Also a treatment with the wire brush resolution of a drill press leads only at short notice to a shining surface. An optically responding solution represents a reasonable lacquer finish.
With the color selection I would prefer December duck colors, since with an engine the technology is the center of attention. Optical exaggerations by to remarkable lacquer finishes find I importunate and redundant. Been suitable BMW Delphinmetallic appeared to me. To an optical alternation the set off Logos and signatures are polished.
First the sucking in bridge must be thoroughly cleaned. Grease-free one gets it fastest with brake cleaner, which lets aluminum oxidize however after spraying very fast. Afterwards soft brass brushes worked satisfactorily, with which one comes also well into the recesses.
Already after the cleaning the abgsetzten surfaces are polished polished and ansatzweise. In addition one works first with 240er sandpaper around the rough surface to smooth. All pores are disappeared with 400er and 800er paper are followed. Remachining for example at errors in the casting at individual letters is simply possible with a Dremel.
After smoothing the set off surfaces finally one cleans.
In order to obtain an optimal adhesion of the lacquer on aluminum, special clamping coat is necessary. That is usually in spray doses available and in several very thin layers is laid on. One paints too thickly, the clamping coat at to fillers catches, i.e. the rough surface becomes in parts more smoothly.
After one drying time of at least 1/2 hour those are released the set off surfaces wide from the color. In addition 800er sandpaper is used.
Now can be painted. Perfect of results are to be obtained only with a painting pistol. With the operation is not to be dealt here further.
With appropriate reductions in the durability and optical finish can be worked also with color from the spray box. Considering the expenditure for the disassembly of the sucking in bridge I would recommend however the way to the Lackierer here.
Now critical, with a calm Haendchen, a reasonable schleifklotz and 800er paper is worked out now the set off surfaces. Who slips thereby, the painting pistol can before-get directly again. Now also clearly why sanding off will somewhat more generously fail after the clamping coat should. No clamping coat may show up at the sharpening edges.
The result see you in the picture left. Patience is worthwhile itself when sanding off. A goal should get it its straight and even edges at the transition to the painted range. That can be done according to experience with the "3.2/3.5" quite well, while the "BMW" signature was usually not poured so cleanly above. Here one must weigh whether one at all the set off surfaces on the top side sands off. The errors in the casting are polished particularly noticeable. One hardly sees it completely over-painted against it.
Also with my sucking in bridge the upper surfaces are not perfect. I got a quite deep unevenness on the lower line by clearing away a half millimeter material away, but the edges are not even. Nevertheless I sanded off and polished it first times. The place I must regard still times exactly, perhaps also again more drueber paint myself.
Optically suitably with my M30 engine also the valve cover is worked on. Cleaning is the first step also here. With the valve cover actually only first sanding off becomes quite aufwaendig. Usually the valve covers are quite cleanly poured. There are however differences, who has several to the selection, perhaps should regard and on both covers grind the edges of the set off surfaces times for a test exactly.
The optical result is very satisfying. I selected the newer version of the valve cover. It does not possess photographs the suction tube support, a wide "BMW" signature and three fixing bolts for an optically invisible attachment of the amount of air measurer in contrast to the old cover. Otherwise it is naturally completely compatible with the old valve cover with large BMW symbol.
