Trouble is Mr. Polizei and his gang of 8 'student police' kids reckon she was doing 116kph as she crossed the threshold and before she braked. This measured from something like 200mtrs away with nothing to show any depth perception other than the machine's display.
After searching the car, her purse, her glovebox etc... they found €20. When I turned up and vouched for her and showed the anmeldung to say we live in germany and pay taxes here I got the pat down and lost my €120 in my back pocket for my EBC redstuff that's delivered today... Our bank accounts have a sum total of €41 in them as we're both on pittance wages over here.
What's interesting is that they couldn't sieze the car or belongings or arrest us for being too poor. When they were absolutely sure we were not millionaires from England on a Cannonball run in a 1.4 Fiesta, they just demanded we sign their ticket
Apparently you do HAVE to sign and they were willing to arrest us over that point, but we signed the section saying we admit nothing, we didn't do it, we don't understand. Nein, nein, nein.
My bothersome-out-law was behind and they reckon he did 96kph at the same point and did him for €450, of which he only could put hands on around €300.
Edit: Bother-in-law signed the bit that said 'yes, it was I what done it' as the Polizei split us all up and wouldn't let me talk to both of them. They started to get real shirty when I explained they were all my family and I need to help translate. We were herded apart to be taken down seperately with none of this conferring in fast English. When they figured out I was telling them not to sign and not to pay anything until they fully understood, the lead copper got properly aggressive."
