E3S Rulebook 101.
General guidelines:
1a: If you came here because you have a specific question or problem with your e30, please read the E3S Frequently Asked Questions, and be sure to look over the Technical Articles.
2a: E30Sport.net has a search feature. It is often helpful to run a search to see if your question has been asked and answered by someone else previously. Most questions have been.
3a: Your profile stores valuable data about you and your car. Please completely fill out the available fields so other members can better help you with your questions!
4a: When you post, please do so in the most appropriate section, and in just one section.
5a: Use a subject that is descriptive. Do not force people to open the thread to find out what the topic is.
6a: Post in complete sentences with punctuation.
7a: Do not post all in capital letters, this is annoying to everyone and will not be tolerated.
8a: When posting pictures of, or links to your car, you are opening yourself up for criticism both good, and bad. If you cannot handle such criticism, than do not show us your car.
9a: Interpretation and enforcement of all rules are subject to the administrator or moderator handling it, results may vary on a case by case basis.
10a: The thread starter at any time may request via PM that an administrator or moderator lock or delete their thread.
11a: Misinformation, don't post it. If you are not sure beyond a reasonable doubt, make it known you aren't sure. Don't leave your misinformation to be taken as truth.
12a: If you don't agree with something a moderator or admin did/does, make it known to them via PM if you insist on doing so.
13a: Openly stating your opinion is ok here. Making personal attacks on a fellow member or his vehicle is not. Personal attacks will not be tolerated.
Things that will earn you a 10 day timeout: (repeat violations will earn you the boot)
1b: Posting pornography, or otherwise distasteful media.
2b: Posting slanderous remarks about other members or websites.
3b: Posting personal attacks towards other members.
4b: Posting all in capital letters.
5b: Repeated use of signatures over the set restriction size. (400x 225)
6b: Repeated use of signature text or pictures that violate any normal "posting" rules.
7b: Spamming the forum in any form, such as "fake" registrations, or redundant posts.
8b: "Post whoring" Posting a short mindless comment, nothing but a link to another website's forum topic, or only a emoticon, and not adding anything useful to the discussion through your post.
9b: Repeated "cross posting" Posting the same exact threads, in several different sub forums.
10b: Posting stolen goods and or pirated software for purchase or download.
Things that can and or will earn you a banned status with or without discussion or warning of any sort:
1c: Habitual violations of any combination of offenses listed in the B subsection of the rulebook.
2c: Posting personal attacks towards E3S staff, administrators and moderators.
3c: Repeated re-registration of usernames, following a previous banning.
It is important to remember why the E30Sport forum is here. It is to allow people to share ideas, discuss methods, and learn new techniques. It is also here to build a community of enthusiasts who can rely on each other - for everything from lending a wrench to becoming a close personal friend. Keep that in mind and the community can grow, members can grow, and our cars can keep looking young
With great challenges comes great engineering.
